The Florida Atlantic University mens soccer team had their three-match unbeaten streak snapped and dropped a 2-0 decision to Stetson at the Stetson Soccer Complex on Saturday evening. The Owls (2-3-1) kept things level until halftime as FAU keeper James McCormick tallied two saves in the first period to keep Stetson off the board. In the second half, the Hatters (3-2-1) broke through in the 61st minute when Gonzalo De Mujica blasted one past McCormick from 20 yards out to put Stetson ahead 1-0. Ryan Asare-Bediako extended the Stetson lead to 2-0 eight minutes later with his first goal of the season. Rocco Pecora paced the offense for FAU and recorded two shots. Benny Barshai tallied the only shot on target for the Owls. Stetson outshot FAU 10-6 during the match. James McCormick made three saves in net and suffered his first loss of the season. The Owls will be back in action next Friday when they open conference play on the road at Akron.
