Caleb Coombs WR 5-11, 186 Transfer Marshall The wide receiver room is building itself back up quite nicely for the Florida Atlantic football team, having their latest addition in Caleb Coombs. He is transferring from Marshall and will make his way to Boca Raton next season. Declaring his allegiance on Friday afternoon, Coombs leaves the Thundering Herd after three seasons. In 22 career games, he made 43 catches for 347 receiving yards and two touchdowns. This past year was a solid one for the up-and-coming receiver, making 39 receptions for 310 yards and two touchdowns, which are all career-highs. One of his best showings came against Old Dominion on September 30th, having a season-high in catches with eight for 76 yards and a touchdown in a 41-35 victory. Coombs was rated a three-star prospect with an 86 score by 247Sports coming out of St. John’s High School, ranking him the third-best player in the Washington DC area and the 133rd-best wide receiver in the country. He is now the 26th member of FAU’s ever-growing 2024 class. Entering the portal on December 6th, 2023, he will reunite with fellow teammate and quarterback Cam Fancher, who also made his way to FAU last month. Coombs becomes the fourth receiver to transfer to the Owls for the 2024 season, joining the likes of George Johnson III from UMass, Joseph Young from Coffeyville Community College and Marlyn Johnson from Buffalo.
