FAU dropped their sixth straight game Sunday afternoon, falling 94-74 to Toledo in the 2K Sports Classic in Detroit. The Owls are now off to their worst start ever in the Mike Jarvis era, sitting at 1-6 this season. The Rockets used a 30-11 run to close out the first half, and never looked back. Pablo Bertone led the Owls with a career-high 29 points, and scored 23 points in the second half, but his production couldn’t outweigh the dreadful effort from his teammates at the free throw line. FAU finished the game 8-of-18 at the charity stripe, while the Rockets were 34-of-36. The Owls’ front court started the game with some offensive flare, but that quickly faded. Dragan Sekelja fouled out with five minutes left in the contest, and Justin Raffington got lost in the mix. Jackson Trapp complimented Bertone with 12 points, but outside of him there wasn’t much scoring. Kelvin Penn also produced a career high with 11 points, and Richard Morrow added 4 of his own. FAU will return to the court December 3rd to host UCF at The Burrow.
