Justin Davis, the tallest player on Florida Atlantic’s roster at 6′-10″, 250 lb, arrived in Boca Raton in 2007 after a one year stint in Macon, GA at Mercer University. Originally from Jacksonville, FL, the center played at Episcopal High School where he averaged 20 points, and 11.6 rebounds per game as a senior. Davis sat out his first year as an Owl due to NCAA transfer rules, then faced injury early last season thereafter before finally getting onto the court to account for 37 rebounds and seven blocks – in an average of 7.3 minutes per contest – and enjoy a career high six point performance against Arkansas State. This year, Coach Mike Jarvis said he want’s to see Davis utilize his size better and be more of a presence down low on defense to make it more difficult for opposing big men. “I want to see Justin play like hes 6-10…with more space between his man”, said Jarvis. During his senior year in high school, he participated in a basketball camp in the Dominican Republic that benefited underprivileged children. “They have nothing, so it meant a lot”, said Davis.
