George spent the first two seasons of his collegiate career with Alabama before transferring to Bowling Green ahead of the 2021 season. After a lone season with the Falcons, George transferred yet again to Miami where he’s spent the last two seasons of his career.
At all of his stops, George did not receive playing time with a reserve role, looking to change that with one final pitstop at FAU to end his college career.
Football has surrounded George all of his life. He is the son of Jeff George, who played 12 seasons in the NFL as a quarterback from 1990 to 2004, being the No. 1 overall selection of the 1990 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. His brother, Jeffrey, also played college football at Illinois.
The trio even have a connection with Warren Central High School. Jeff, Jeffrey, and Jayden all led the team to four of the school’s nine state championships during their high school playing careers.
2018 was a big year for Jayden, playing his senior year at the time. He led Warren Central to an undefeated 14-0 record and a state championship, passing for 3,100 yards and 42 touchdowns.
Enrolling at Alabama as a walk-on, he got to experience the championship culture there by witnessing the Crimson Tide win the College Football Playoff and SEC in 2020.
Joining the Owls over the summer, he will compete with four other quarterbacks for the starting job as a pivotal decision awaits for head coach Tom Herman and his coaching staff in the upcoming fall.
