First-year head coach Zach Kittley has landed his first transfer for the Florida Atlantic Owls as he improved their talent in the trenches for the 2025 roster, landing their next commitment in offensive lineman Vincent Forney.

Forney announced his commitment to the Owls on Monday morning via X, days after entering the portal on Dec. 12. He noted that Kittley and the coaching staff played a big role in his decision to transfer to the program.
“The coaches and also having one of the best nutritionist and weight room coaches in the world had a big part in my decision,” Forney said.
“My conversations with coach Kittley were amazing, all the stuff we talked were very important to me and it sounded and looked like he knew what he was talking about!”
A 6-foot-5 athlete, he can play on the offensive side of the field at an efficient level. His ability to make blocks to protect his quarterback is worthy to note about the potential he possessed for Bethune-Cookman.
Making 11 appearances as a freshman, Forney has made plenty of blocks against opposing defenders to allow his quarterback to find his targets or make plays himself, or giving the running back chances to find holes in the defense to exploit. Despite the team finishing with a 2-10 record, he has shined with the opportunities he has earned to showcase what he can provide in the O-line with his abilities.
He chose the Owls over intriguing offers from Coastal Carolina, Southeastern Louisiana, and Samford among other schools.
“I see myself fitting perfect in this offense because I feel like what I do best is pass protection and that is what this offense is all about!” Forney said.

He is very excited to make his presence known in Kittley’s offense next season and fulfill the goals he is setting for himself and the team.
“My goals I want to achieve in this upcoming season as a new member of owl nation is to be all conference and get us to the playoffs none the less!”
