John Dunmore, the 2019 four-star recruit, is coming back home to South Florida, joining his Penn State teammate Michael Johnson Jr.

Dunmore, who attended Chaminade Madonna Prep, will be reuniting with former high school teammate and current Owl receiver  BJ Alexander.

This is the 5th Power Five receiver to transfer to FAU since Willie Taggart took over as head coach, joining BJ Alexander, DeMarcus Adams, TJ Chase, and Aaron Young.

Nice pick up! Love to see talent brought into the program like this. But I am going to hold up some enthusiasm just due to the fact so many power 5 transfers have never seen the field or didn’t live up to expectations. But hopefully this one does!

Nice pick up! Love to see talent brought into the program like this. But I am going to hold up some enthusiasm just due to the fact so many power 5 transfers have never seen the field or didn’t live up to expectations. But hopefully this one does!

The way I look at it is some kids get pushed out and are asked to leave. I will say this dunmore is a big time talent. Coach T like big recievers on the outside that can block. 

Big time pickup, another blue chip transfer to the 2021 class

The most you can expect from these receiver transfers that didn’t put up good stats at their previous college is a good practice player.

These transfers were massive disappointments and buried on the depth chart for a reason.

With receiver transfers you have to look at their stats at their previous college. To be successful the transfer should have at least one 70-80 yard touchdown reception at their previous college. A long punt return or kickoff return is a plus.

We have 2 really promising high school recruits at receiver. We should be developing them.

Dunmore was only on campus at penn state a couple of months. Each transfer is different with different circumstances. Imagine tj chase with compotent qb play. 

No doubt  you develop the new kids . But these guys already know college football. . If available and if they can fill a void , bring them in. And as delta  suggested,  I treat transfers with cautious optimism.  I hope for all involved that they make an impact.

Agree. I can't wait to see these same guys next season. What a difference a year makes.

To add to this, Adams did not even get his wavier to the right before the season.

During camp they had to get the guys they thought were going to play the most reps.


When Javon Durante was here, he had a full season sitting out learning the offense every day working with Chris before playing.

As I have pointed out from the 2017,2018, and 2019 classes under Lane, only two WR's played in 2020- Wright and Merrell.

Dunmore has 3-4 years left and can be developed like any high school player.

Except he was was one of the most talented revivers in the country.
