Wow. I knew we were getting more money but that is a huge jump. Is the American figure at risk due to restructuring? Wonder what CUSA will get in their next negotiations.

No, AAC money was not impacted…this started a bit of a scuffle on twitter…people can't read and understand basic math.

Haha I think the scuffle was about the amount of money per year. I think you misspoke and said 8.3, but the AAC gets 83M from the media contract yearly.

AAC lost 2 markets (Orlando, Cincinnati) but picked up FIVE (5) (Dallas, San Antonio, Charlotte, Birmingham and South Florida). And retained the Houston market.

WAY better than a wash IMHO! And all geographic fits as well, unlike the B12.

Correct.

AAC added 5 teams in relatively large TV markets.

But even more importantly, probably 5 of the top 15 growing areas in the country.  It's important to have schools in places people are moving to.

Hence, let's kick Memphis out.   :Smug:

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

How important are TV markets though? (genuinely curious) It doesn't seem like the most watched football teams are generally in big TV markets

At least to advertisers is show potential homes they can reach! And as programs grow and establish, viewership will grow with it!
