This is a bad loss and honestly a big hit to an at large tourney birth.

Felt like at 11-2 they were feeling they'd have another EMU performance, got shell shocked after Bryant came back, and just never recouped. Figured they'd settle down after halftime, but they seemed even more tight and a step slow all game.

Though not a pushover program, it isn’t a marquee one, its FAU before the Final 4 run as far as the national outlook on them. You got to wonder how this impacts the buzz and momentum around The Beach Boys.  How does their following and tickets get impacted? Do ticket prices and demand drastically drop on the secondary market? Time will tell.

Not good no matter how you look at it.

FINAL STATS: (10) FAU 52 Bryant 61 | Owls were unlucky shooting from the field and from deep in the loss. FAU did have the 18-10 edge in bench points and had two more steals than the Bulldogs.

I was tied up all day yesterday. Bummed after watching my Tigers fall out of the Conference Championship race losing to SMU 38-34.

That loss was not unexpected since SMU was an 8.5 pt favorite.

What was shocking was when I saw the FAU score notification pop up on my phone. I was stunned. After reading through this thread I see the team was just cold today. It happens – unfortunately.

If a crappy loss like this had to happen, at least FAU wasn't the only ranked team to go down that way. 14th ranked Arkansas lost on their homecourt this week to UNC Greensboro.

20 games down the road if you're sitting at 22-2, everyone will look back on this game and laugh thinking how the heck did that happen.

Season's just getting started. Put this one behind you and just win going forward. Winning cures everything.
