I didn't have too much hope for this game with Rosado and Boyd out of the game so pleasantly surprised.

Hopefully martin can get hot tomorrow - I feel like he's almost there.

This my friends is a great, quality win and bounce back game when clearly shorthanded. Can see how vital Boyd is so hoping he and Rosado can be pleasant surprises in the lineup for the rest of the tourney.

You will not see Boyd for the tournament.

He is likely looking at two weeks.

FINAL: Iowa State 68 - 64 VCU

Keshon Gilbert and Tamin Lipsey combined for 44 points to lead Iowa State in what was a close game. While VCU moves to the loser's bracket, the Cyclones await the winner between Boise State and Virginia Tech.

It's pretty trash that we have to play tomorrow at 11:00 AM in the winners bracket. Our game should be at 1:30 PM. Let the losers play early. Butler gets more rest than we do and we beat them.

FINAL: Boise State 75 - 82 Virginia Tech

ICYMI: The Hokies took care of business by beating the Broncos to conclude the 1st round of the invitational last night. Virginia Tech went 23-27 from the free-throw line, displaying their aggression more often than Boise State did who were 13-16 from the charity stripe. The Hokies also had three players score 18 or more points each to lead their team to victory.

FAU faces Texas A&M for spot in ESPN Invitational championship game

What: #19 FAU (3-1) vs #12 Texas A&M (5-0)

When: Fri. Nov. 24th, @ 11:00 AM

Where: ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

Series: First matchup.

TV: ESPN2

Radio: FoxSports 640

Live Stats: Here

Line: FAU +3.5

FAU at a Glance

Offense - 80 PPG, 47% FG, 33% 3PT

Defense - 67 PPGA, 43% FGA, 31% 3PTA

Rebounding - 39 RPG Owls, 33 RPG Opponents

Owl Notables

The Owls' offense got itself back on track with the 91-86 victory over Butler.

Not only did FAU shoot a strong 52.4% from the field, they also had six players score in double-figures including two off the bench.

Those two in particular were guard Jalen Gaffney and forward Tre Carroll. With guard Nick Boyd and forward Giancarlo Rosado unavailable due to injury, both Gaffney and Carroll stepped up. They posted a combined 25 points on 11-17 shooting overall, showcasing themselves as solid offensive options the Owls can turn to while Boyd and Rosado are absent.

It is possible that FAU will want to use Brenen Lorient and Isaiah Gaines for this specific matchup. The emphasis Texas A&M has in maximizing their inside game is a strength that the Owls would have to counter by having more size on the court, something that both Lorient and Gaines are capable of providing.

Win or lose, the Owls will face either the Iowa State Cyclones or Virginia Tech Hokies on Sunday, November 26th. The game will be broadcast on ESPN at 1:00 PM or ESPN2 at 6:00 PM.

Texas A&M Team Site: Here

Texas A&M at a Glance

Offense - 79 PPG, 44% FG, 26% 3PT

Defense - 64 PPGA, 40% FGA, 30% 3PTA

Rebounding - 44 RPG, 30 RPG Opponents

Aggie Notables

Texas A&M presents themselves as a high-profile matchup for the Owls, considering the two are the only ranked teams participating in the invitational.

The Aggies' 5-0 record to start the season, following their 89-77 win over Penn State, is nothing to joke about. They have achieved astounding victories over last season's NCAA Tournament participants Ohio State (73-66) and Oral Roberts (74-66), building off the 25-10 record they had last season including their appearance in March Madness.

Wade Taylor IV stands out Texas A&M's best all-around player. The six-foot guard is averaging 18.2 points, 4.4 assists, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.8 steals per game. They also have a double-machine in forward Henry Coleman III, who is putting up 15.2 points and 10 rebounds (top 50 in the nation) on 71.1% shooting from the field (top 15 in the country). Limiting their chances to help their team would prove beneficial for the Owls.

Texas A&M loves to crash the glass. They are among the 50 best rebounding teams in the country, grabbing 44.2 boards per game. They also have an elite rebounding margin of 13.8, good to be in the top 15 nationally.

Even though the Aggies are good at defending the perimeter, they are not as efficient in shooting from deep. Their 26.2% accuracy from beyond the arc ranks among the 50 worst percentages in the country, an area that FAU should force Texas A&M to have to utilize throughout the contest.

Win or lose, the Aggies will take on either the Iowa State Cyclones or Virginia Tech Hokies on Sunday, November 26th. The game will be broadcast on ESPN at 1:00 PM or ESPN2 at 6:00 PM.
