That was an incredible game. Much respect to Charleston. This game had “trap” written all over it, but they prevailed.Posted On: Dec 2nd 2023, 8:48 PM #418778
Never want to see them again. LOL
Very good team and very well coached.
FINAL STATS: (13) FAU 90 Charleston 74 | Owls shut down the Cougars with a 7-MINUTE FIELD-GOAL DROUGHT to pull off the victory!
Davis had a 24-PT, 10-REB DOUBLE-DOUBLE while the Owls bullied Charleston 45-34 on the glass!

Side note. We got 32 points out of our centers tonight. How many teams in the country can bring a combo like that?
It can’t be many

Most impressive win to date. You can tell they learned from the Bryant game. They didn’t force the 3’s like they did against Bryant when they weren’t falling. They took it inside and took the game over there.

Agreed. The inside game, the perimeter or slasher in Martin. Pick your poison. Scary.
Goldin gets my vote for most improved.

Same Incan see why they were in the tournament last year they gave us fits but we outlasted them. We can score from wherever and we don’t have Boyd back yet. It’s gonna be a
fun season again. So thankful for the team and Coach May making FAU more of a national brand. College Football has an NIL problem but it feels like Basketball is still a level playing field for now and we’re certainly taking advantage

Lol, no its not an equal playing field. We are very much paying NIL money for our players in basketball.Owl Ranger said

So much so…its causing us a NIL problem in football.
Any sport that generates serious revenue is going to have heavy NIL tied to it (again, in AAC we can still win with a good coaching staff and limited NIL).
That being said, Dusty is a better coach than most...and obviously worked hard to recruit areas (Mississippi and Gary, IN) that others were not. What is true is, last year Dusty took a team with probably $0 NIL to the Final 4...again, coaching matters. There were a lot of kids he wanted that were paid to go to other schools.
Our football coaching staff needs to be mentored by Dusty a bit.
