That was an incredible game. Much respect to Charleston. This game had “trap” written all over it, but they prevailed.

Never want to see them again. LOL

Very good team and very well coached.

Same Incan see why they were in the tournament last year they gave us fits but we outlasted them. We can score from wherever and we don’t have Boyd back yet. It’s gonna be a
fun season again. So thankful for the team and Coach May making FAU more of a national brand. College Football has an NIL problem but it feels like Basketball is still a level playing field for now and we’re certainly taking advantage

Lol, no its not an equal playing field.  We are very much paying NIL money for our players in basketball.

So much so…its causing us a NIL problem in football.

Any sport that generates serious revenue is going to have heavy NIL tied to it (again, in AAC we can still win with a good coaching staff and limited NIL).

That being said, Dusty is a better coach than most...and obviously worked hard to recruit areas (Mississippi and Gary, IN) that others were not.  What is true is, last year Dusty took a team with probably $0 NIL to the Final 4...again, coaching matters.  There were a lot of kids he wanted that were paid to go to other schools.

Our football coaching staff needs to be mentored by Dusty a bit.

The NIL should stay weighted right now to basketball.

Its tough because we've invested so much in football facilities over the last 10 years.  Also, football dominates our athletics budget.

We really went all in on football for a long while.

But yea, we've never had even close to the atmosphere at football games as we have at basketball games.  How far we are from selling out a FAU vs Eastern Michigan football game is frightening.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

Even with Lane, I remember drawing about 12k fans to the conference championship game in 2019. I don’t know what it is with football we just can’t seem to get it to where Schnellly had it headed. Maybe it’s just a different era but it sure is frustrating. I agree with Delt we need to ride this basketball wave and pump more NIL into it as long as we can as it is  by far our most successful program in the University’s history at this point (sorry baseball). If we beat Illinois tomorrow night that game against Arizona will potentially be a top 10 matchup maybe even higher.
