Coconut Creek DB Elijah Cannon Pledges to FAU Football Class of 2024

Florida Atlantic is in rhythm having landed a plethora of commits throughout this past week. On Thursday afternoon, they made their latest addition to the Class of 2024 with Elijah Cannon announcing his declaration for the Owls.

Cannon made his official visit to FAU on June 20 after attending two camps on June 5 and June 10, getting defensive coordinator Roc Bellantoni's attention as a player who could prove himself to be useful to the Owls' defense when he makes his arrival in 2024.

His skillset as a defensive back, particularly at the cornerback spot, also becomes more clear with his 6-foot-1, 170-pound frame as he is quick on his feet and can make crucial tackles in a short amount of time.

His highlights from 2022 can be seen below:

Not only has he been attending FAU's camps but Cannon has also taken a week-long tour, stopping by the campuses of FIU, Miami, Louisiana-Monroe, Louisiana Tech, Grambling, Jackson State, Georgia State, and Florida State.

Cannon is now the 10th member of FAU's rising 2024 class. He picked the Owls over Middle Tennessee, FIU, Akron, and Ohio among others.

He is also the fifth player to be entering the Owls' defensive unit next year, grouping himself with safeties Michael Wright III and Curtis Janvier, linebacker Remington Roberts, and cornerback Jaheim Miller.

No worries here, just my take on it.
At 170 lbs. he is a couple of years away from seeing any playing time in the SEC.
If he is any good and stayed at FAU, he would be leaving FAU by then for NIL money.
