2023 American Conference Football Schedule Week 11

Tulane, SMU and UTSA enter Week 11 tied for first place in The American standings at 5-0 in conference play. Memphis sits a game back at 4-1.

Tulane improved to 20-3 over the past two seasons with Saturday's win at East Carolina. It is the first time in program history that Tulane has won 20 games in a two-year span.

SMU is 5-0 in conference play for the first time since a 7-0 start in 1982, when the Mustangs finished 7-0-1 in the Southwest Conference.

Memphis, which scored a season-high 59 points in its win against South Florida, scored at least 20 points for the 23rd consecutive game, extending the longest active streak among FBS programs.

UTSA has won 15 consecutive games against conference opponents (regular season and postseason) after its 37-29 win at North Texas.

UAB QB Jacob Zeno set a school record with 484 passing yards in the Blazers' 45-42 win against Florida Atlantic.

Charlotte overcame a 17-0 second-quarter deficit against Tulsa, scoring 18 consecutive points on a rushing touchdown, three field goals and a safety. The 49ers won 33-26 in what was the first conference game to be decided in overtime this season.
Temple QB E.J. Warner registered his school-record fourth career 400-yard game with his 402-yard performance in the Owls' 32-18 win against Navy.

North Texas QB Chandler Rogers saw his nation-leading streak of consecutive passes without an interception end at 288 when his 25th pass attempt against UTSA was deflected and picked off.

Florida Atlantic WR LaJohntay Wester, who entered Saturday's game against UAB as the NCAA leader in receptions (9.5 rpg) and punt return average (22.6 ypr), had 11 catches for 219 yards and three touchdowns, added a rushing touchdown, and averaged 22.0 yards on two punt returns against the Blazers.

FINAL:

Tulsa 22  Tulane 24

The Green Wave survive another scare, and escape with the two point victory at home. They have now won their last two games by a combined five points. It will be a tough call to keep them in the top 25 with other teams who are knocking at the door enjoying better performances.

The Golden Hurricane, who lost their fifth straight, found themselves down 14-0 early but chipped away to keep it a close contest late. They outgained Tulane by 120 yards on the afternoon.

FINAL:

Temple 23  USF 27

The Bulls jump out to a 17-0 lead and find themselves needing turnovers to slow down Temple's come back effort.

The Owls missed a field goal and extra point attempt that would have likely changed the contest's outcome.

Defensively, Temple registered six sacks and 13 tackles for loss.

USF moves to 5-5 and the Owls fall to 3-7 while being officially eliminated from bowl consideration.

FINAL:

UAB 6  Navy 31

The Blazers struggle in the red  zone, going 2-of-4. But the bigger issue was the first and third quarters were Navy held the ball an average of 10 minutes per period.

By the time the fourth quarter came around, the defense was gassed and the Midshipmen (4-5, 3-3) pile it on with two rushing touchdowns and a 97 yard pick six.

The Blazers (3-7 , 2-4) are eliminated from Bowl contention.
