The American Athletic Conference and Big Ten are the only two FBS conferences with three eight-win teams prior to Saturday's night games (Army, Tulane, Memphis). The ACC could have three eight-win teams if Pitt defeats Virginia tonight, while the SEC could have three if Tennessee beats Mississippi State.

Tulane won its 16th consecutive American Athletic Conference regular-season game, putting the Green Wave one shy of the confernence record of 17 wins, set by UCF (2017-19) and tied by Cincinnati (2020-22).

East Carolina has scored a combined 105 points and has 1,051 yards of offense in two wins under interim head coach Blake Harrell.

If Tulane defeats Navy this Saturday, then Tulane and Army would play in the American Athletic Conference Championship Game Dec. 6, with the site to be determined. A Navy win against Tulane would keep the championship pairings undetermined until at least next week.
