Gainesville Regional Discussion Thread

Live again in Gainesville…

FAU is out taking fielding practice, while Oregon State is in the batting cages.

Should be a great day of baseball. FAU has to win, or they head home.

More to come..

FAU's Lineup:

1. Church 2b
2. Albaladejo C
3. Mee Rf
4. Scheffler 1b
5. Cassidy Dh
6. Delguidice SS
7. Gratton Lf
8. Bukovich 3b
9. Mesa Cf

On the Mound

R.J. Alvarez (3-1, 4.74 ERA)- the freshman, Alvarez, gets his first appearance in the postseason against the Beavers.

vs.

Tyler Waldron (4-5, 5.07 ERA)- OSU is making an interesting move and starting Waldron, who has only started six games this season.

And were going to have to wait for the FAU-OSU start.

A lightning strike has occurred within a five mile radius, and due to NCAA regulations, we will have to wait 30-minutes +, for no more lightning.

The tarp is out, but no rain yet.

Looking at a 1:17 start, unless more bad weather comes.

Re: Gainesville Regional Discussion Thread

Looks like it may happen…

There is a pretty good sized thunder cell coming in from the due west and it is on path to cross over northern Gainesville…

Re: Gainesville Regional Discussion Thread

While we wait (still no rain)…

FAU is 8-6 all time in regional elimination games, Oregon State is 11-2 under head coach Pat Casey.

This is Oregon State's third straight game delayed by rain.

OSU's Tyler Waldron's last appearance was a 3-1 loss to Arizona.

Little rainfall so far, the tarp is just now being removed, so looks like the project 1:17 start is going to be pushed back.

I'm guessing at least another 30 minutes until first pitch.

Sunshine now, but the teams are not out warming up yet.

Still waiting to hear from baseball operations on a start time.

Hopefully before 2 o'clock.

No idea what's going on now. The tarp was about to go back on, but they decided against it.

I heard thunder a few minutes ago, and its now sprinkling rain.

Latest projected start time is 2 p.m.
