Having visited numerous times, and participated in a plethora of camps and events, Sanford Seminoles quarterback Luke Rucker has become somewhat of a fixture at Florida Atlantic's Boca Raton campus.
His latest trip would be today for FAU's 2022 QB Camp, where Rucker joined a large group of signal callers to work through drills, instructions, and an extended film review with the Owls' staff as weather halted action midway through the schedule.
In the end, this session would have special meaning, as Rucker gave his pledge to Coach Taggart and the Owls' football program.
"It's a great program with a great coaching staff and they really care about their players," Rucker said.
Rucker is perhaps the consummate prospect, as he excels both on and off the field and offers a polished demeanor as well.
A 4.0 student, Rucker was named to the Orlando Super 60 prospect listing, as well as 1st team All-SAC and Honorable Mention All State Class 8A. He also participated in the Orlando Elite 11, and Under Armor All American Camp series.
Rucker offers a strong arm, a relaxed approach, and yields a polished command of the game in the most important position on the field. This is shown in his 11-2 record as signal caller for the Seminoles, who won the State Championship in 2020.
Rucker's first offer actually came from FSU, as he caught the eye of current coaches while on an unofficial visit. That carried over to FAU with the transition by the staff.
"I feel like it is great time to join the program. They are going into the AAC in 2023 and there is a lot of opportunity", Rucker told Andrew Ivins of 247 Sports following his decision.
He also visited Florida and UCF unofficially, and held official offers from Stetson and Bethune Cookman.

Dude has an absolute hose. 50 yard tosses in there too. Nice end zone touch. Wish he was more mobile but we won 11 games with a statue.Posted On: Jun 12th 2022, 10:02 AM #407503
