2024 FAU Football Coaching Changes

Post

The first domino has fallen, and it is both unexpected and tough to realize.

How about over 2nd half vs. USF (who just got held to 7 SEVEN (7) points by Navy AT USF) and the first half vs. ECU the D allowed 10 TDs and one FG so 11 scores for 73 POINTS out of 14 possessions. In non-scores was also a missed FG and ONLY ONE Punt!

Add in Two more TDs in 2nd half at ECC we have given up 86 POINTS in last game and a half! against 2 AAC teams and neither even had a winning record!

So glad Coach H sems to agree. I still think he needs to firs the OC and OL Coach, call his om O for last three games and staff needs to search FCS for a great FCS O and get him hired to fill OC as soon as their season ends!

Shake it up and start over ASAP!

HEY we are DOWN FIVE starters. THAT might have SOMETHING TO DO with the lack OF PRODUCTION in the second HLAVES OF GAMES.

DONT you AGREE?

This is the part where Tom Herman changes coordinators to try and buy himself another year.  Not saying that changes aren’t needed, I just don’t get why you’d fire him now with 3 games left.  Seems like the only purpose it serves is to make it look like Herman is doing something when this will actually change nothing this year.

As for Frye, I seem to remember something about how he’s worked closely with Weisman…so with him starting the rest of the year, I could understand keeping him around for now.

OL coach Ed Warinner also let go today.  Again, not the wrong move, but the timing is strange with just 3 games left.

Not really.

Need to publicly announce you’re hiring to get coaches in and onboard for recruiting purposes, both high school and portal.

Hopefully TH & BW have been working the phones for a few weeks now so replacement hires are made swiftly.

Maybe but they aren’t hiring their replacements before the offseason when a lot more coaches are available.

Perhaps it’s to signal to recruits that the season isn’t acceptable while also ensuring them that Herman isn’t the one leaving.

I’d prefer they clean house, but it certainly seems to indicate Herman is getting another season (with significant changes to his staff).

Of course it could also mean Herman knows he’s in trouble if they don’t show improvement over the next 3 games and this is the last move he has left to play.

Confirming Warriner…

I think our Athletics department got strangled a bit financially when we switched from C-USA to the AAC with all the buyouts/buyins and the basketball budget multiplying.

Its pretty fair to give Herman a little more resources for next year and see if he can make it happen
