Another ESPN2 National broadcast embarrassment!
This game is looking like the 2016 beat down by Middle Tennessee that cost Charlie Partridge his job.
Who next to go on this staff or does anyone really care enough to make changes.Posted On: Nov 7th 2024, 10:06 PM #427634
Stop talking trash about Charlie. Charlie recruited 1000x better than Herman or Taggart , even kiffin gave him credit. Even in 2016 Charlie never gave up. We went 3-9 that season but we lost 6 of those games by a touchdown or less.
In that "beatdown" FAU scored 56 points including 35 points in the 2nd half.
Show me anywhere this years team put up that kind of offensive production.Posted On: Nov 8th 2024, 1:03 AM #427667
Huge fan of him and his recruiting, and he was one year shy of success.
Just stating what we saw after a “beat down” game could happen again.

If Charlie Partridge had beaten UF in overtime in 2015. He would have won 6 or more games in 2016 and would have been here probably until 2020 at least. It would have been fun to watch, and Charlie Partridge would never have put up with Robison's crap.

How could a game in a previous season propel them to 6 more wins the following season?

Really frustrating to see these teams like Liberty and UTSA that are even younger than us, and getting ranked and recruited by bigger conferences, while we've got probably the most recruitable location in the country, a very winnable conference, and awesome G5 facilities. There's literally no excuse for this.Posted On: Nov 8th 2024, 9:39 AM #427690
That is the most frustrating part for me.
We have great recruits. More than sufficient NIL to be competitive. Great coach. Great location. Great facilities.

God's Blessing.
Lane Kiffin can be called a lot of things, but he was very clear on his Faith and how it transformed his life after the USC debacle. Dusty May, winningest coach in program history - main of faith. Now, John Jakus - same. Mike Jarvis (2nd most winning coach) - same.
John McCormack - same.
Wayne Allen - most won't know his name - same. Only Women's basketball coach in program history to have any measure of success.
I really like Coach Herman, he's very intelligent, smart, and a "good" person. But he needs to get back to his roots and cut the noise out and keep it away from the program. Asking for spiritual flies inviting some of the people around that have been in the inner circle.
This is not a knock, it's more of a "put a stake in the ground and ask for the backing and Blessing".
Here is the proof:

He would have had to of gone to church an awful lot for this to happen.
I would have possibly went to seminary had I witnessed it.
Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

I agree completely with you.
Tom Herman has not forgotten how to coach football.
He has (transfers, recruits, two coaches on staff with D1 head coaching experience, NIL money and excellent weight and locker room facilities), it is frustrating to try and figure out what is missing.
Maybe we don’t have the player talent we all like to talk about.
I sure don’t have the answer.
