It was very easy to make jokes about Vladi. He knew it and he used it as motivation. We often parked in the same general area at the Ox so I’d catch up with him briefly before we left after practice and just see how he was doing, especially in 2019. Great guy, loved Fairman and how he and Kiffin stuck by him and encouraged him after 2018. 

Ferrari Shahriari (The Shah of Boca) has a good leg, and Morgan Suarez was great at Wellington. Hopefully Vladi comes back. If not, they have two kickers who I’ve seen before and have faith in. 

Those success stats are very misleading. What needs to be looked at is success from 0-10 yards. 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50 , and 50+. That will show the confidence a coach has in his kicker.

Based on how often the Fortunate Son played receiver snaps, I don’t know how much I trust Taggart’s confidence in players and what is best for the team.

I’ll just say that every time Vladi went out for a FG attempt, I held my breath. Even if it was from the 10-20 range he was no guarantee. Wish him the best but maybe the best solution for kickers is to bring in a grad transfer every year. Kids are already mature by that time and have hopefully kicked in some high pressure situations 

He was exactly middle of the pack in C-USA for 2020…four others had a better percentage with more attempts as well.
