Yea the announcers kept saying we are a lock in the tournament after yesterday’s win against UNT. I’m not sweating it I’m just hoping we go to Charlotte so the flight is quick and easy!Posted On: Mar 16th 2024, 9:10 PM #422525
I agree Owl Ranger. Hoping for Charlotte too. Don't want to be in the mid-west. The latest bracket on ESPN has us as an 8 seed playing Colorado State and then Huston in the 2nd round. Houston did get throttled today…I guess we will have a better feeling where we stand in the morning. And then get ready for selection Sunday at 6PM.
Not to mention, Charlotte is only an hour and half drive from Virginia for me.
Let's Go Owls!!!!!

All these upsets and bid stealers in other conference tourneys (Oregon, NC State...) have me a bit uneasy. Right now Lunardi still has us in but now on the bubble as one of the last 4 byes.Posted On: Mar 16th 2024, 11:53 PM #422535
Agreed. I think we’re still in, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re left out. We picked a really bad time to have a terrible loss.

Of the 36 at large bids available, a number of the top 36 NET teams have won their conferences and will move to the 32 team automatic qualifier status.
That will open up more at large bid spots becoming available from the NET ranking order and hopefully to us at #39 in the NET rankings.
Hope I am reading this correctly or is it just wishful thinking?

Honestly, more forum posts in these last 2 days about Ohio state rumors rather than Temple, and Dusty getting questions about it from media, shows that the focus within this program is in the incorrect areas. This is turning into Providence Ed Cooley 2.0 the longer this season goes tbh.Posted On: Mar 16th 2024, 10:31 PM #422533
This is a spot on observation and just goes to show where we’re at. Everyone dealing with last year’s expectations and now dealing with impending defections not a good head space for the team to be in! Felt like we were playing with house money last year as we advanced through the tournament. Not so this year!
