Temple won the second half and game because of uncontested threes. Hofman or which ever big they ran out to the point gave their guards space to launch at will. The inability to make a defensive adjustment on the switch lost the game. Running Goldin back into the paint rather than flashing to the ball handler kept happening over and over. We did not deserve to win and we are vulnerable going into the tournament. Temple was mostly cooked otherwise and UAB unlikely to allow these same lapses today.

Didn't really want to go there and pure speculation, but just seemed to me for most of the season the pressure of the new expectations coupled with whatever "chatter" probably took a toll on the team. From my observation the focus has not been there consistently as evidenced by some of these frankly baffling losses that really hurt when playing in a perceived weak conference with less room for error.axaltaracing24 said
Honestly, more forum posts in these last 2 days about Ohio state rumors rather than Temple, and Dusty getting questions about it from media, shows that the focus within this program is in the incorrect areas. This is turning into Providence Ed Cooley 2.0 the longer this season goes tbh.

Tbh we were all hype this year, once again Greenlee was with 0 points, Martin was a non factor and we shot soo many careless 3 pointers. We beat some good programs and to get picked apart by a temple team is shameful. I saw a post OSU will remove the interim tag for their coach, and tbh Dusty may lose other job offers because that’s a red flag losing to crappy teams.
We are at the mercy of the committee. I don’t expect much this tournament if we get in, say we beat a team in the first round maybe we need a Houston to beat us down to reality. We don’t deserve this spotlight, we need to figure things out. We don’t know what we have and tbh we may have lost it.

All these upsets and bid stealers in other conference tourneys (Oregon, NC State...) have me a bit uneasy. Right now Lunardi still has us in but now on the bubble as one of the last 4 byes.Posted On: Mar 16th 2024, 11:53 PM #422535
Agreed. I think we’re still in, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re left out. We picked a really bad time to have a terrible loss.Posted On: Mar 17th 2024, 7:27 AM #422537
And honestly if we are left out I don't feel we have too much to complain about. If we get in as most still seem to expect, I'd expect a national narrative we were less deserving than some other teams that didn't.

We are a LOCK.
They scheduled a media event at the Arena.
You don't do that when you aren't going to the tournament.
