I think FAU experienced a sophomore slump. Second year being a ranked team. Depending on how they do in the tourney, I think Dusty might think he has unfinished business and stay on. I know nothing about him so only he knows.
One thing I do believe is should May depart, FAU will be a middle of the pack AAC team having some winning seasons and never really be  what it has been the last two seasons unless we find another sleeper like May.
Does anyone know his buyout?

I don’t see Louisville or Michigan being legitimate suitors for him I was more concerned about OSU. Just landed in NYC ready for the game tomorrow!!!

Always less expensive to retain what you have vs. starting all over. If Dusty walks out the door (along with remaining core guys via transfer portal) it's going to be a long and painful road ahead trying to recruit talent with a new coaching staff, little NIL support and the weakest basketball facilities in the AAC.

FAU needs to have a "come to Jesus" to find the funds and throw serious gasoline on this fire. Show some early renderings of the new separate practice facility required in Dusty's contract. Commit to making Dusty one of the highest paid G5 coaches. Show him that this is his program and they'll get him the funding to make it happen. I get that it's WAY easier said than done…

On WPTV this week they spoke that the earned media from the basketball team has led to the highest applications on record this year (over 30% more than the last highest application period)… that allows us to attract higher quality students, raise admission standards, graduation rates, etc. They have more fan, corporate and community engagement than ever. It's exposure that unfortunately the University isn't going to generate anywhere else.

Despite what happens I know as a coach there's a lot of value in being vague and keeping the rumors going. Helps keep you in the news cycle and expands your brand. Recruits are seeing these rumors and thinking of Dusty as one of the best coaches in the sport. It might even mobilize our donors and university to commit more resources.
