Hats off to Illinois. They brought their best game of the year. They hit 64.3% of their shots. They could have beaten any team in the league with those numbers. Damask was on FIRE. Anyone hear when Boyd is coming back?Posted On: Dec 5th 2023, 8:52 PM #418895
Should be soon…three weeks was the initial outlook from what I have heard.

Dusty doesn’t like to make defensive adjustments. We have a had a few players have monster games against us so far this season and we aren’t trapping off pick&roll or doubling at all. It normally works out but he dared Domask to beat us and he went off.Posted On: Dec 5th 2023, 8:44 PM #418893
it's the way you have to play defense deep in the tournament…teams are filled with shooters so you have to stay honest…. we're looking for a deep championship run and some of the things you see us doing are design for exactly that….

FINAL STATS: (11) FAU 89 (20) Illinois 98 | 4 Owls scored in double-figures in what was an offensive dogfight from both teams. FAU out-dished the Illini 23-10 and won the steals battle 7-4.

I'll try to get some uploaded, great pics. The turnout for FAU was great for NYC in December imho.
With that said, just catching up on the final stats but seemed Illinois and especially Domask could do whatever the heck they wanted to do. Vlad's foul trouble was killer, and that second half was a nightmare defensively. There was a stretch where FAU had a 5 point(?) lead early in the second, didn't convert on an easy possession and it felt like it fell apart from there.

Well we definitely aren’t going to be able to make adjustments in the tournament if we aren’t practicing different styles in the regular season. I watch a lot of NBA and college and I’ve never seen a team give a guy exactly what he wants so many times in a row. I obviously think Dusty is great but I’d like to see something new for those situations. I mean we clearly mix up the defense in terms of full/half court pressing and zone/man.
