This is actually for 2022 NFL pre-season;

ALL of our "primary" Owl stars in the NFL did not play (Singletary, Hendrickson, Bryant, Al Shair) but six other had statistical good days on this 1st week;

Brandin Bryant. Bills; 5 Tackles, one for a loss

Trevon Coley, Bears; (just signed 8/5) had TWO sacks for -13 in yards AND a Pass Defensed!

Zyon Gilbert, Ginats; 1 Tackle, 1 Assist

Greg Joseph, Vikings; 2-2 FG and 2-2 PATs

Herb Miller, Bengals; 1 End Zone INT in 4th qtr.!, and 1 Pass Defensed

James Pierre, Steelers; 6 Tackles and 1 Pass Defensed

Rashaad Smith, Falcons; 2 Tackles

In addition this past week BJ Emmons was signed by the Texans.

Everything I’ve read so far indicates Jamie has an excellent chance of staying with the Steelers as a backup CB and special teams mainstay. Which is ideal as he enters his third and final year on contract because he’s coming closer to pension.

Would not be surprised if Giants tried stashing Zyon on PS if he doesn’t make 53 based on reports from The Athletic’s Giants writer (and Dan Dugan knows his stuff).

Just saw Desmond Noel ranked 51st out of 362 NFL offensive linemen in pass blocking according to PFF. Not bad!

Brandon Walton is in the mix for the Bucs’ starting LG job. If he doesn’t win that, he’ll almost certainly either be a backup there or at tackle. Sounds like they love his versatility.

Go Owls!

Charlie recruit every single one of these guys?

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

Well, NFL final cutdown day not good to the Owls, Seven (7) cut (Gilbert, Raine, Bryant, Coley, Noel, Mitchell, Miller). I am sure some will get Practice Squad designations today and maybe some get picked up as free agents.

Lots of these guys had real good camps so surprised by more than a few!

This leaves Singletary, Hendrickson, Bryant, Pierre, Al Shair, Walton, and Joseph. This leaves seven (7) on active NFL rosters for now.

An afternoon update, All seven (7) Owls cut yest. are back on NFL rosters with five (5) on Practice squads (Gilbert, Bryant, Coley, Mitchell and Miller) and two (2) on IR (Raine and Noel) with non-disclosed injuries.

Good for them all and hope the injured heal soon!

Nice! 14 on NFL teams is impressive. Partridge was one hell of a recruiter

True! Too bad not a good coach who made BAD decisions.
