The American Conference football slate for Week 4 will feature 11 games in total with all of the action for the period taking place on Saturday.

Only one league contest is on the docket with Rice travelling to South Florida as both teams open AAC play.

The remainder of the action is tilted towards Power 5 opponents with four teams taking on SEC foes, and three facing squads from the AAC, Big 10, and Big 12 respectively.

Rounding out the balance is a MAC tilt and two FCS matchups.

By day’s end on Saturday, teams from The American will have played a combined 12 games this season against teams ranked in this week’s top 25, including the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3-ranked teams.

The Roadrunners were picked by some to win the American, but right now have the same record as FAU at 1-3.

Frank Harris did not play (turf toe) but his replacements still managed to go a combined 30-of-41 in the lopsided loss.

FINAL:

Gardner Webb 0  ECU 44

Was penciling in the Pirates as and FAU win but after this showing that is slightly shifted. FCS opponent or not, pretty commanding.

Of  note, the Bulldogs did fumble the rock eight times, while losing five of them. The Pirates only managed 366 total yards but it was a balanced effort at 50-50 for both the pass and run attacks.
