I understand this was a terrible loss, but no one knows how the season will play out. The three losses were close games in the end.
The majority of fans have already thrown in the towel and calling Memphis two losses at the end of the season. Why even put that negative thought out there. Memphis could lose Jones to an injury and their team would be in trouble. Penny Hardaway is an amazing coach, but we have seen how injuries can change the course of a season.
There's no doubt that everyone on the FAU team is not as hungry as last year. We know how important rebounds are and how it can make or break a team. Last year the team was focused on being dogs and chasing down every rebound available.
It's pretty simple, no need to overthink it, get 3 to 5 more rebounds per game and make 5 to 7 more foul shots and this team would put up 10 more points a game. And, those three losses would be DUB's.
I am super proud of how this team has performed knowing that there was underlying injuries and we still beat some super talented teams. Coach May will make the right changes and get this team back to being pit-bulls and Rottweilers.
Let's get behind these young men and get them back to dominating the AAC.
Just my two cents.

I don't understand all of the extreme negativity about our basketball team.

TBH, everybody had unrealistic expectations. Get to the dance and win. Goes to show you how unique last year was.Posted On: Jan 7th 2024, 5:34 PM #419990
Last year was a Christophany with a dozen acts.
(maybe more, too lazy to count)

I’d rather go through this now and have the team surging in March. I’m sure Coach May will work through things and we will be playing much better when it counts. This has been our worst stretch of basketball all year.

Both Martin AND Davis were coming off the bench at one point last season. I think Martin would definitely benefit from being in a sixth man role. Davis has been our best player this year I don’t mind him starting he has been scoring well.Posted On: Jan 8th 2024, 8:48 AM #420009
Martin off the bench for a bit is exactly what I have been thinking, and may help him better find his rhythm while keeping consistent firepower off the bench.
Loved how transparent May was in his press conference and keeping it real with the players on where things stand with no sugar coating. Sounds like changes will be made.
