Lady Owls to play Ole Miss, UCF, Iowa State, and N.C. State The FAU womens basketball team announced its schedule for the upcoming 2009-10 season today. The Florida Atlantic/Boca Bridge Hotel Holiday Tournament, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, November 27 and 28, featuring the University of Mississippi , and a date with the University of Central Florida on Saturday, December 12 highlight the Owls 16-game home schedule. This is one of the better schedules weve had here at Florida Atlantic, said FAU Head Coach Chancellor Dugan. We are going to play some of the countrys top teams, and that is exciting for us and for our program. Dugan led FAU to an Atlantic Sun Conference Championship in 2006 and berth into the NCAA Tournament prior to the universitys transition into the Sun Belt Conference (SBC) in 2006-07. The Sun Belt schedule is always so competitive, said Dugan. We are right where we want to be after making a big move up the standings last year. This team is in position to have a really good conference season, and our tough non-conference schedule is going to help set that up. Before the Owls begin its SBC schedule at the University of New Orleans on Wednesday, December 16, FAU will be put to the test in early-season games against Iowa State University , North Carolina State University, Eastern Kentucky University , Kent State University and Ole Miss. The SBC home-opener will be Saturday, January 2 against the University of South Alabama , beginning a three-game conference homestand and initiating a two-month stretch to close out the year playing exclusively within the league. The FAU athletics department is offering a series of ticket specials for the 16-game home schedule. Season ticket packages start at just $48 for adults and $35 for youth and seniors. If you are a mens basketball season ticket holder, you are eligible to purchase womens basketball season tickets for half price. Additional specials include All-U-Can-Eat seats for season ticket holders who upgrade their seats for an additional $99. This voucher will be good for All-U-Can-Eat hot dogs, nachos, popcorn and soft drinks for the entire season. The FAU Ticket Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. To purchase tickets or for more information, contact 1-866-FAU-OWLS.
