Florida Atlantic men’s soccer has announced a 15-game schedule for the upcoming 2024 regular season. Head coach Joey Worthen, in his eighth season at the helm, will lead the program into its third campaign as a part of the American Athletic Conference. The Owls advanced to the AAC Tournament semifinals a year ago. The trek begins on the road with a pair of matches in the plains of Nebraska. The Owls will square off with Creighton (4-7-6 in 2023) in the season opener on August 22 and Omaha (8-8-4) three days later. The home opener is set for August 29 against Stetson kicking off a stretch of four straight at the FAU Soccer Stadium Sunday. Matchups with Belmont (8-7-3), Utah Valley (3-7-7) and North Florida (3-8-4) round out the early non-conference schedule. AAC play begins on September 21 in Birmingham against UAB (0-11-4). After a non-conference trip to Jacksonville (5-9-3), the first home conference match of the season pits Owls vs. Owls when Temple (3-8-4) comes to town. Florida Atlantic will play five matches in October four of which will be tough road tests. Tulsa (4-8-3), FIU (10-5-4), and Memphis (11-6-2) await on the AAC schedule. The Owls will also visit Fort Myers to face FGCU (3-7-5) and close out non-conference play. The lone home match of the month will see USF (6-9-1) make the trip to Boca Raton on October 11. Senior night and the final home match of the regular season will be a rematch of last year’s AAC semifinals. The Owls face 2023 tournament champion Charlotte (13-4-1) on Saturday, November 2. The AAC Tournament begins November 8, with the semifinals set for the 13th and the championship on the 16th. The Owls will also play two preseason exhibitions on August 10 vs. UCF and August 16 vs. Palm Beach Atlantic. Both home matches begin at 7 p.m. and are open to the public. All home matches at the FAU Soccer Stadium are free admission. A promotional schedule, details of ESPN+ streaming, and the full 2024 roster will be announced in August.
