First Spring Scrimmage Up Next

With Friday’s prep session in the books, the Team will look to establish some rhythm with their first scrimmage of the Spring tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. Couple of nice plays today, but overall relatively quiet. Coach Schnellenberger wasn’t on the field while tied up “meetings”. Not sure what they involved, but think it must have been something pretty important to pull him away from practice for the entire session. Marcus Bartels made the play of the afternoon with an interception off of Jeff Van Camp. Tavious Polo also had a pass break up. As we have talked about quite a bit this Spring, nothing is in stone for a lot of starting spots – aside from a few positions. And the next few Saturdays will tell a likely tale of what we can expect heading into Fall Camp: Jackson is a class act – always controlled, and always friendly. Somewhat surprised by his mentioning wanting to find five skill positions, but hey, drive a little competition while you are at it. And as far as the concern for offensive line, sounds to me like he isn’t. Tomorrow should be solid weather, with the possibility of a stray shower in the afternoon, but that sun angle is getting established now, so bring a cap if you plan on heading out. Sean Todd is firing up the grill with some hamburgers and hot dogs, and will have plenty of other things to partake of at very reasonable prices.
