It’s for Real – Defense Is Much Improved

After two straight losses, the offense squeaks out a one point margin of victory, 24-23, over the defense today in the 2010 Spring Game at the Oxley. A big observation when glancing at the stats from last week to that of this week is the major swing on the ground. Last week the “O” had just 108 total yards on the ground. That changed in a big way, with 313 yards this week, and was a key difference. Cleaning up all of the miscues and mistakes over last week’s loss is a big positive as well. But there is still work to do offensively. The defense once again made some solid plays, adding another two INT’s to go along with a fumble recovery. This obviously had Coach Schnellenberger singing their praises heading into next year. This should also be music to Owl Fan’s ears after the horrendous showing on the field last year and lining the cellar in yards allowed per contest. But for now, the dry spell begins. Four months to go until it’s time to do it all again. Photos Stats
