Albany at a Glance Taking on FAU, the Danes (America East Conference) are heading into game two of a ridiculous eight game road trip that will conclude against North Carolina on December 30th . Albany faced UCF on Saturday and lead by as many as six in the second half before falling 76-72 in a tight game all around. Will Harris (23) and Tim Ambrose (25) combined for 48 of Albanys 72 points on the night. The combination of Harris (15.4 PPG) and Ambrose (15.3 PPG) are the heart and soul of Albany’s offense. The Danes were down to just eight players at season’s end. To offset that, they brought in a six-man recruiting class that was primarily built for size. “We are anxious to start putting the pieces of the puzzle together. This team has some variety and versatility. It will be interesting trying to find the right combinations”, said Albany Head Coach Will Brown. Despite this, Brown did express some concern over FAU’s Ray Taylor: “Hes quicker than quick. Raymond Taylor is going to be a handful for us”, he said. FAU at a Glance The Owls are coming off a 78-58 loss to USF last Friday night in Tampa. The contest concluded a four game road swing in which FAU went 1-3. Owls Coach Mike Jarvis is still tinkering with his line-up and rotation. He recently placed light on the fact that he might start one player ahead of another because the player coming off the bench is more motivated in that role. Thus, there could be more changes Monday. “We are going to have to play well against them (Albany). They’re a scrappy team”, said Jarvis. Adding energy to the Owls interior game, Jordan McCoy continues to impress. The freshman currently leads FAU with a team best 6.8 rebounds per game. Ray Taylor continues to dish out the basketball well, and currently enjoys a 2.35 to one assist to turnover ratio. Latest Line : TBA Owl’s Nest Prediction The Owls need to show they can put together two halves of basketball. Additionally, shooting has to improve from a consistency standpoint. And being back on the home court will help. They match-up well against the Danes, and should muster the win. Owls -5
