Fawbush Throws Complete Game One-Hitte r Jessica Myers homerun was the difference in the Florida Atlantic softball teams 1-0 win over South Alabama in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament on Wednesday. The Owls (28-24) threatened in the first inning when Blair Bodenmiller walked and Amber Jones blooped a single down the right field line. After a Jones steal, FAU had runners on second and third with no outs but was unable to capitalize. The game was a pitchers duel between FAUs Taylor Fawbush and USAs Beth Pilgrim. Jones single was the only hit of the game until the fifth inning when Brittany Fowler singled up the middle. Jessica Myers hit her third homerun of the season, down the line in right field to put the Owls ahead. The Jaguars had the tying run on second base with one out in the seventh inning, but couldnt score. Fawbush threw her 13th complete game of the year for her 10th win of the season. FAU will face Louisiana-Lafayette in a second round game, the game is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. Live stats and live audio will be available at fausports.com.
