Sun Belt Football Action for November 20th, 2010

A six pack of action on hand for Sun Belt Conference fans today. Here’s game lineup for Week 12, November 20th. Teams in bold are the desired winners. Troy (5-4, 4-2) vs South Carolina (7-3, 5-3) @ 12:00 p.m. – SEC Network The Gamecocks rocked UF’s world once again in Gainesville courtesy of former coach Steve Spurrier, who likely still feels jilted being asked to apply for his old job back. But, as far as this week’s match-up against Troy, the Trojans have their hands full in a big way and won’t come away from Columbia in winning fashion. On the fence with this one. A win would make them bowl eligible, and help the conference RPI. Nah, Owls don’t need the competition. Go Cocks! Spurrier Previews Troy Arkansas State (4-6, 4-3) vs Navy (7-3, 0-0) @ 3:30 p.m. – CBS College Sports This could be the best Navy team in quite some time. The triple option will likely give the Red Wolves some problems, especially in the second half. See above for the reason for the pick. The less teams with six wins the better. Red Wolves Face Navy Saturday in Final Non-Conference Action North Texas (3-7, 3-4) vs Louisiana-Monroe (4-6, 4-6) @ 3:30 p.m. – ULM Pay Per View Even though FAU should have beaten them earlier, they have never been more of our friend than right now. A win on Saturday helps matters. Go Mean Green! North Texas-Louisiana-Monroe Preview Capsule Florida Atlantic (4-5, 3-3) vs Texas (2-5, 4-6) @ 3:30 p.m. – FOX Sports South Florida Losing to the Owls would be the ultimate deflator for an already bummed Longhorns fan base. Texas lines the basement of the BIG 12, and “fire Mack Brown” threads are appearing across cyberspace. One more loss, and it’s no Bowl for the first time since 1997. Can the Owls redeem a 52-10 shellacking from two years ago? Stranger things have happened. Owl’s Nest Preview Middle Tennessee (3-6, 2-3) vs Western Kentucky (2-8, 2-4) @ 4:15 p.m. – Sun Belt Network The Blue Raiders must win out. The Hilltoppers having nothing to play for better than making it not happen. Going out on a limb here, but WKU gets the “upset” over a demoralized MTSU squad. At least the Panthers aren’t on the Conference “tube” this week. Hilltoppers Host Middle Tennessee Florida International (4-5, 4-1) vs Louisiana (2-8, 2-4) @ 7:00 p.m. – None Let’s hope losing by one point to the Owls is solid motivation to pump up a not so “Hot” bunch this year. What could be better for the Owls than seeing FIU sent home at 4-2? Keep an eye on this one late. Geaux Ragin Cajuns! Cajuns’ defense shows progress Enjoy your weekend…….
