Owls held to their second lowest scoring output of the season The Florida Atlantic womens basketball team shot 30 percent from the field in a 59-42 loss to FIU on Wednesday night at U.S. Century Bank Arena. It was a very disappointing loss, said head coach Chancellor Dugan. We had a long layoff and you could tell we were not ready to play tonight. Finda Mansare led all scorers with 20 points as four FIU player scored in double-figures in the win. The Owls (13-12, 9-6) were led by Carla Stubbs who tallied 13 points and was the only FAU player to score in double-figures. The loss snaps a three-game Sun Belt road winning streak for FAU. The Golden Panthers (14-13, 9-7) have now won six straight games dating back to the 77-75 overtime victory over FAU back on Jan. 30 in Boca Raton. In the first half, the Owls made just six field goals and trailed 30-15 heading into halftime. Despite struggling mightily from the floor in the second half as well, FAU cut the deficit to 51-40 with four minutes remaining but could not draw any closer. The Owls will be back in action on the road this Saturday night with a game against Troy. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. at Trojan Arena.
