Future Owls Spotlight: 2024 Week 1

Kickoff for FAU’s season opener at Michigan State is just a few short days away. While the anticipation is mounting, the Owl’s 2025 commits have begun their senior season.

The future of FAU football is already off to a great start, as the members of Paradise ‘25 are showing of the talent we’ll be seeing very soon in Boca Raton. Without further ado, let’s dive into how members of FAU’s 2025 commitment class fared in their Week 1 matchups!

Damon Allen, DB West Boca

We were in attendance for West Boca’s regular season matchup against The Benjamin School. Damon (photo top, Christian Proscia) anchored down the right side of the field the entire game, shutting down the Buc’s passing attack.

Allen’s 5 tackle, 1 PBU, 1 Pass Deflection game helped the Bull’s narrowly defeat Benjamin 14-13.

Branden Hoch, WR St. Thomas Aquinas

Saturday (Aug 24) afternoon, the #11 (National) ranked St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders hosted #2 Bishop Gorman (NV). While Aquinas did fall 29-21 to the Gaels, Owls commit Branden Hoch (photo below Christian Proscia) had a strong showing.

During Saturday’s primetime matchup, Hoch reeled in 3 grabs for 35 yards.

Cameron Gooden, DL Ft. Pierce Westwood

Cameron Gooden has been a force to be reckoned with on a very talented Ft. Pierce Westwood defense. The majority of Westwood’s matchup with John Carroll unfortunately was postponed, however Gooden recorded 5 tackles during the shortened game.

Robert Lee, LB Osceola

Robert Lee had an outstanding performance last weekend, en route to Osceola’s 21-7 victory over Treasure Coast. Lee was “flying across the field”, recording 12 total tackles and a forced fumble.

Hector Chavez, LB Columbus

Our linebacker room looks ELITE! During Columbus’ nailbiter 17-14 victory over SouthRidge, Hector anchored his defense, recording 8 total tackles, 2 TFL, and 1 QB Hurry.

Tamez Young, TE Gaither

Tamez was an offensive focal point during Gaither’s 41-19 loss to Armwood. Young reeled in 4 receptions for 70 yards.

Logan Husband, OL St. Thomas Aquinas

It’s time to show some love to the big guy in the trenches. Owls offensive line commit Logan Husband (photo right below, Christian Proscia) had a stellar performance against that #2 Bishop Gorman defense. Husband solidified the line, recording 2 pancakes and allowing 0 QB hurries.

With the high school football season officially under way, make sure you continue to tune into FAU Owls Nest for weekly updates on your recruits.
