West Virginia WR EJ Horton Transfers to FAU Football
The Owls added depth to their receiving corps, acquiring an experienced player in EJ Horton from West Virginia.

Horton announced his commitment to the Owls on Thursday afternoon, leaving the Mountaineers after one season. He had 10 catches for 201 yards and one touchdown throughout the 2023 campaign with the Mountaineers.
He also spent three years at Marshall. There, Horton played in 18 games the past two seasons, including 12 in 2022. He caught 16 passes for 245 yards and two touchdowns in the last two seasons.
Horton showcased his effective in the receiving game during his high school years at Palmetto Academy. He caught 47 passes for 774 and 11 touchdowns as a senior with 48 catches, 827 yards and 11 more scores as a junior.
He also has a willingness to take part in special teams as well. He returned three interceptions for touchdowns with three more in the kicking game. He was a two-time all-region honoree and claimed all-conference honors, while being named the team's offensive player of the year in each of his last two seasons.
When he joins the Owls in the summer, he will have one year of eligibility remaining. He will also reunite with former Herd quarterback Cam Fancher and wide receiver Caleb Coombs.
