Ervin announced his commitment to the Owls on Friday evening, shortly after making his official visit last weekend.
He has played at Buford High School for two seasons, recording up to 33 carries for 229 rushing yards and two touchdowns. His junior season was his most active in the team’s offense, getting 21 carries for 147 yards and a touchdown.
Ervin also has the ability to play on defense, particularly at linebacker. This past season saw him make 17 tackles (14 solo), two TFLs, and two pass deflections.
Arguably his best performance was last October against Dacula, where he gained up to 41 yards for a touchdown on three rushes while the team won in a 66-0 rout. It was a successful year for the team, going 11-2 throughout the season and finishing second in their region.
Ervin showcases tremendous speed as well, taking part in the school’s track team. In the 100-meter dash, he set a personal record of 11.18 seconds this past March.
He chose the Owls over intriguing offers from multiple FBS schools such as Utah, East Carolina, Charlotte, Marshall, Eastern Kentucky, and App State among others.
Ervin is the 11th member of the Owls’ 2025 class, joining Seth Chestnut, Nigel Nelson, Hector Chavez, Damon Allen, and Robert Lee among others.
His agility and versatility could make him a perfect fit for FAU’s dynamic offense, where his speed and ability to read defenses can be fully utilized.
