Magwood announced his commitment to the Owls on Monday afternoon, shortly after making his official visit this weekend.

2023 was an incredible year for Magwood and the Carrollwood Day High School football team. They went 8-2 on the season, outscoring opponents 420-182 in the process. This included scoring 40-plus points four times and scoring more than 50 and 60 points once apiece.

Their season ended in the region finals of Class 1 Metro, losing just 45-41 to eventual state runner up, Clearwater Central Catholic. Despite coming up short in the tournament, they still garnered recognition as the Zephyrhills Water High School Football Team of the Year in the 1 Metro classification.

Magwood was at the center of it all. He completed 130 of his 191 passes (68.1%) for 2,177 yards, 22 touchdowns and four interceptions, while also adding three rushing touchdowns. His best performance came in the season-ending loss to Clearwater Central Catholic in the tournament, throwing for a whopping 437 yards and five touchdowns on 22 completions.

Rated as a three-star quarterback with an 81 score on On3, he is ranked the 148th-best player at his position and the 223rd-best in the state of Florida. His composite score of 0.8328 has him listed at 95th among quarterbacks and 173rd in the state of Florida.

“Jordan Magwood’s ethics is what first comes to mind. This is a kid that maintains a 4.0 GPA, has quarterback throwing three days a week, strength training three days a week and is on his high school track team,” trainer BJ Hall said to 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong.

“He is a student of the game and understands football at a high level. Jordan is a kid who makes any teams he plays with better on and off the field.”

He chose the Owls over offers from multiple FBS programs such as Tulane, Temple, Navy, Ole Miss, Marshall, and Georgia Tech among others.

Magwood is the sixth member of the Owls’ 2025 class, joining Seth Chestnut, Nigel Nelson, Hector Chavez, Damon Allen, and Robert Lee. Graduating from high school early, he’ll enroll at FAU in January so he’ll get a head start in participating throughout spring camp.
