Roberts formally announced his commitment to the Owls on Tuesday afternoon, a few weeks after making his official visit on the weekend of June 14th.
“I love what’s going on at Florida Atlantic Football, and I want in!”, declared Roberts after making his decision on Monday afternoon.
Coming off a strong junior campaign at Eau Gallie High School, Roberts recorded 74 tackles (37 solo), 14 tackles for loss (TFLs), four sacks, and four fumble recoveries.
In two of the 12 games he played, Roberts achieved double-digit tackles. In a 35-0 win against Winter Haven last September, he notched 10 tackles (seven solo) and five TFLs. The following month, in a 53-7 victory over FPCHS, he recorded 11 tackles (five solo) and two TFLs.
Roberts is known for his power and hard-hitting ability on the defensive line, making him a significant playmaker. He is also versatile, capable of dropping back into pass coverage, reading plays and quarterbacks, and demonstrating a high defensive IQ against opposing offenses.
“I will bring a hard worker and someone with a winning mindset to the program”, Roberts said. “I chose FAU because it’s a place that I’m going to excel at both on and off the field.”
He chose the Owls over offers from multiple FBS schools, including Minnesota, Coastal Carolina, Old Dominion, and FIU.
Roberts joins as the 16th member of FAU’s 2025 class, becoming the second edge defender alongside Cameron Gooden.
His versatility and strength make him a perfect fit for FAU’s defense. His ability to disrupt plays and read the offense will be invaluable in enhancing the Owls’ defensive strategy.
“Having built strong connections throughout the coaching staff, I really like the genuine feeling I get from all of them”, Roberts said.
