Kahzir “Buggs” Brown

Transfer
Maine
Another player is making their way to the Florida Atlantic football team’s Class of 2024, this time with Kahzir “Buggs” Brown transferring from Maine. This would provide more competition in the cornerback unit when he makes his way to Boca Raton next year.
Making his announcement on Monday afternoon, Brown leaves the Black Bears after being a full-time starter for a majority of his three-year stint. In 31 games, he made 137 tackles (74 solo), 19 pass deflections, six interceptions, two forced fumbles, a sack, and a touchdown.
This past season saw him make a career-high 61 tackles (30 solo) including 5.5 for a loss of yardage, eight pass deflections, two forced fumbles, a sack, and an interception throughout 11 contests. His performance in a 34-28 defeat against Campbell on October 21st stood out the most, with Brown making a season-high 10 tackles (two solo) and a sack that created an eight-yard loss. How he played against North Dakota State on September 9th was also noteworthy, as he made nine tackles (six solo) to be one of the few bright spots in a disappointing 44-7 loss.
Versatility is a key asset in Brown’s playstyle. His skillset allows him to play at cornerback, strong safety, free safety, wide receiver, linebacker, kick returner, and punt returner at a highly effective level.
Brown is now the 20th member of FAU’s expanding 2024 class. He chose the Owls over UAB, Buffalo, and Monmouth among others.
He also becomes the third player to be joining the Owls’ cornerback group in the 2024 season, joining the likes of Lawrence Johnson and Jaheim Miller from Miami.
