Lee announced his commitment to the Owls on Wednesday evening via X, shortly after entering the portal on Dec. 2. He joins the team with one year of eligibility remaining, as one thing particularly stood out to him.

“The culture that Coach Kittley is building here at FAU is special and I felt it on my visit and knew this was the place for me!!” Lee said.

He also enjoyed the conversations he had with Kittley and new special teams coach Tyler Schovenec, seeing how highly they regarded him while recruiting his services.

“The conversations with Coach Kittley and Coach Schovanec were awesome!! They kept talking about how excited they are for next year and want me to help build something special here at FAU!!” Lee remarked.

He moves on from the FIU Panthers after three seasons with the football program. There, he commanded the starting spot at long snapper as he played his role in the special teams unit at a high level. This garnered him plenty of award recognition, including 2024 All-CUSA Preseason Second Team (Phil Steele), 2023 Phil Steele Preseason All-CUSA Team (Second), and 2022 Conference USA All-Freshman Team.

Moving on to a different environment for his final year, Lee has a lot of trust in the system that his position coach will run at FAU, prompting the long snapper to be determined to fulfill his objective.

“I see and trust Coach Schovanec’s system that he will run here at FAU, and want to do my 1/11 to help contribute and bring success next season,” Lee stated.

On 247Sports, Lee has a 75 score as the fifth-best long snapper in the Class of 2022 and the 67th-best player in the state of Arizona. According to Kohl’s Professional Camps site, he is a five-star player as the 10th-best at his position in the 2022 class.

While he has gained plenty of experience throughout his collegiate career, there is one thing he sets out to achieve heading into his final season for the 2025 campaign.

“As an Owl my goal is to do my 1/11 and lead others, both on and off the field,” he said.
